Sprint Sled Dog Races in Indian River

Indian River is hosting two fun Northern Michigan winter events, the Indian River Rondy Sled Dog Race and the Indian River Sprint Sled Dog Race. These two winter events offer great spectator experiences for the entire family.

The Indian River Rondy Sled Dog Race takes place January 7-8. Sponsored by the Indian River Sled Dog Sprint Race Committee. Featured races are: Junior (1 mile); 3 Dog (4.1 mile); 5 Dog (6.1 mile); 7 Dog (8.1 mile) plus Skijoring: 1 Dog and 2 Dog and Weight Pull.

The Indian River Sprint Sled Dog Race is rescheduled from January 28-29 and to February 11-12 has been cancelled. Also organized by the Indian River Sled Dog Sprint Race Committee, the two-day event features a variety of races: 8 Dog; 6 Dog, 6 Dog Reg Breed, 6 Dog Sport; 4 Dog, 4 Dog Reg Breed, 4 Dog Sport; 3 Dog Junior; 2 Dog Junior; 1 Dog Junior, plus Skijoring: 2 Dog and a Weight Pull..

The two day races take place during Winterfest weekend.

The start and finish of the race is just behind the Hometown Inn, just of M-68 and I-75. Parking is available. Race watchers are asked to leave personal pets at home and not to approach the sled dogs without permission.
