Baroque on Beaver
July 24-29, 2012
A week of baroque on Beaver Island features the Festival Orchestra and Chorus and special guests.July 24, 7:30pm Opening night at the Beaver Island Community Center with The Choral Scholars, and Flash Rasendrasahina.
July 25, 7:30pm An evening of chamber music at the Central Michigan University Biological Station.
July 26, 7:30pm Stravinsky's The Soldier's Tale performed by solo instruments and narrators.
July 27, 7:30pm The Festival Orchestra and chorus presents pieces by Beethovan, Schubert, Vivaldi, and Vaughan Williams.
July 28, 7:30pm The Orchestra performs Americana including Copland's Appalachian Spring and choral selections from the Civil War Era.
July 29, 7:30pm Mendelssohn's Scottish Symphony and the Gaelic Blessing.
